Container Zero was a stealth-shielded lockbox created by Mister Fantastic during the early days of the Fantastic Four to contain a spark of Zero Force that he had discovered. Container Zero was kept deep beneath the Baxter Building, locked to a fixed point in space.

Over a decade later, Container Zero was targeted by the alien Cormorant, who was scouring the Earth raiding similar lockboxes in search for a mysterious item. He destroyed the Baxter Building in the process, and swatted away the Fantastic Four's attempt to stop him. They failed, and the Cormorant cracked open Container Zero, unleashing the Zero Force.^[1]
