The following is the lists of tasks necessary to improve the Marvel Database, ranging from small, quick improvements to large-scale projects.

Create Pages

• Wanted Pages is the list of 1,000 most referenced subjects which do not yet have articles. If you familiar with one or more of these subjects, please create an article using an appropriate Template.
• Category:Articles Needed lists other subjects that need pages, sorted by their origin.

Expand Pages

• Stubs are placeholder articles without History text that must be added for the articles to be of value to the readers.
• Category:History Expansion Needed are articles with History that is very outdated and requires significant expansion.
• Short Pages is the list of the shortest pages on the Marvel Database, sorted in order of their brevity. As our pages use Templates which contribute to the page size even without a word of text added, these pages are suspiciously short and should be either significantly expanded or verified for accuracy and possibly deleted.

Merge Pages

• Category:Merge contains pages that have been proposed to be merged together. Please review the validity of those proposals before executing any merge.

Split Pages

• Category:Split contains pages that need to be split into two or several. Please make sure that you are deeply familiar with the subject matter before executing the split.

Add Images

• Category:Image Needed contains articles that would benefit greatly with the addition of one or more images. To add an image to an article you must first upload the image, also including the image's source and licensing.
• Category:Image Correction Needed contains articles that list a non-existent image file as their main image. These images should be either corrected or uploaded anew.

Add Links

• Dead-end Pages do not contain links to any other ages on the Marvel Database. Please review them and add whatever links may be appropriate.
• Orphaned Pages are the opposite, they are not linked from any other pages and thus are "invisible" on the wiki. Please add links to them from relevant pages.

Add Sources

• Category:Articles Needing Citation contain information without citations. If you know the source of that information, please review Marvel Database:Citing Sources and add it using the appropriate template.
• Category:Pages with reference errors use reference tags that have been added incorrectly and must be fixed to display properly.

Add Appearances

• Category:Appearances Needed includes released comics that need their Appearances filled out.

Add Categories

• Uncategorized Pages require add or more categories so that can be located through category navigation.
• Uncategorized Files lack the Marvel Database:Image Template, which must be added and filled for automatic categorization.
• Uncategorized Categories are categories that themselves require categorization.

Fix Redirects

• Double Redirects are pages that redirect to another redirect, which in turn redirects to the actual article. They need to be corrected to exclude the unnnecessary step and lead directly to the relevant page from the start.
• Broken Redirects are redirects that lack destination pages; they need to be either corrected so that they lead to the relevant page, or be deleted.

Other Tasks

• Category:Unspecified Reality - articles that need their "Reality = " field filled with the number found in their page title.
• Category:Creators Needed - articles that need listing the subject's Creators, usually the Writer(s) of their First Appearance.
• Category:First Appearance Needed - articles that are missing their First Appearance or Mention. It is usually the first item in the respective Category.
• Wikify - pages that require to have wiki syntax added or fixed.
• Articles with no Subcategories - given the Template-based structure of Marvel Database, it is highly unusual for a page not to have at least Appearances or Images subcategories. Appearances or Mentions need to be added for in-universe articles (Items, Locations, Organizations, Teams), and Images need to be added or properly categorized for media articles (Episodes, Series, Novels)
• Category:Tasks also lists other, less common tasks.

Administrative Tasks

The following tasks can only be performed by Administrators or Moderators:

• Unused Categories: Verify and Delete.
• Unused Files: Verify and Delete.
• Category:To Be Deleted: Verify the validity of the Delete tag and community consensus before proceeding.
• Category:Move: Verify the validity of the Move tag and community consensus before proceeding.
