Fashion designer Janet Van Dyne is the original Wasp, having been granted her astonishing powers by her partner Hank Pym through the use of Pym Particles. The Wasp is a central figure within Earth's Mightiest Heroes, the Avengers, having been responsible for baptizing the team. When Van Dyne was lost in Microverse, Hank Pym adopted her identity to honor her career. Pym's brilliantly intelligent daughter, Nadia, a Red Room fugitive, has also took up the name and shares the legacy of the unstoppable Wasp with Janet Van Dyne.
