History
Origins
The origin of the Ligureans' was a mystery. They were a non-Hyborian race,[1] non-Pictish in origin,[3][4]
One hypothesis is they were a branch of the aboriginal Bossonians, descended from a tribe who wandered into Pictland centuries before the Age of Conan, and adopted the primitive lifestyle of their Pictish neighbors.[1]
The Ligureans usually warred with the Picts,[4][1] but were sometimes allied with them.[4]

By the Age of Conan, circa 10,000 BC, and the rule of King Conan I over Aquilonia, Diviatix the Ligurean was chief druid of Pictland, and even Dekanawatha Blood-Ax, chief of the Pictish Confederation gave way to him despite Diviatix being Ligurean and not Pict.[3]Notes
- The Ligureans were created by Robert E. Howard in "Wolves Beyond the Border.[4]
Trivia
